The neckline and front inner pleat of the dress are done in a band of gold with a more dense pattern

To wear it you just slip the inner dress on and then the overlay slips over that

The shawl or portrait collar is expansive and covers the entire shoulder - in notes for other shawled collared dress The Met comments "A full skirt balances a nipped waist or a portrait collar counteracts a fitted bodice in numerous examples of Dior's work"

It was made under the creative direction of Monique Lhuillier. We have included a photo of it on the Dee Hilfiger in between that and the presentation photo, you can see how spectacular this dress is on the body. The Lookbook was shot at a picturesque French chteau and Lhuillier said of the show that she "wanted the clothes to be seen in the place where they might be
