whose threads have been treated or coated with an iridescent metallic sheen that in the light goes from a deep copper hue to one that almost has a pink undertone to it

The lace is backed in a fine silk dyed that has been dyed to match the light pastel silver grey tone in the lace perfectly

This one, in black, in especially wonderful and a very rare find. A similar version in black and white resides in the Museum of Bath and was displayed in 2013 in the exhibit "50 Fabulous Frocks". There is also a photo showing Yves with ballerina Margot Fonteyn who owned the museum
