Dresses like this one really show his love of fabric and unusual textures. His earlier pieces especially showcased unusual textile choices that were a contrast to his simple cuts. He continued to do this throughout his career but I feel that the earlier pieces showcase it the best. The dress is made from a beautiful silk velvet that is fused onto a silk
