It has a bit of a sculpted feel to it and I love how the waist nips in but there is no seam there to break the lines of the dress

The unusual fabric choice is a pinstriped men's suiting and the construction is equally unusual

This would have been meant for the boudoir but it could easily be worn as an actual gown in our modern world. It is cut on the bias and literally slips on and settles down the body perfectly into place, caressing every curve. The screened floral pattern runs in angled bands giving the wearer length and leanness. I can't help but think of the later Ossie Clark spiral dress
