This was probably the largest Gambel Oak I have ever seen and it was sad to see it killed by fire but I’m glad I was able to recover the wood and make some beautiful pieces from it

This is one of my favorite smaller pieces. Gambel Oak is very slow growing mountain species and even though this piece is only 7 diameter there are approximately 80 growth rings in it and so much character.
