I made the band and bottom of the setting that holds the stone by melting recycled sterling silver then hand forging and forming it into the ring band and silver sheet metal

These are made from an agate we found in Wisconsin

These are tiny studs at a bit less than 6 mm across

It reminds me of the sky on a clear blue bird type of day. This piece is large for this type of opal as it is often seen in smaller fractured chunks but some larger pieces have been found recently. I cut this stone in a domed teardrop and set it in solid 999 fine and 925 sterling silver. I make my own sheet silver from recycled sterling so this piece has a recycled aspect to it as well. I
